Side A-Rich White Males-6 songs-Gutsy, bare knuckle punk from California the Rich White Males are playing the tunes they love to play. Mirroring the Dickies and/or Pink Lincolns in respect to the fact that the music is so off the wall but kept together by some really gritty shit. The band has real range from fast, hard punk songs to groovy sing-a-longs. Songs that we can all relate to, like how when we all fell in love with the RAMONES it was for a thousand different reasons. Under-produced overall but the band makes “under-produced” sound very good. Side B-The Cummies-6 songs-Italian Pop Punk obsessed with that fuzzy-wuzzy down-stroked guitar. They play fast and loud, snotty and proud. Chaotic vocals that are hard to say no to, the entire band lends vox to secure the group effort as stellar. The Cummies love the Ramones and it shows. Sometimes bands who wear their influences on their sleeves come up just short of a glorified “tribute” band. I especially enjoy seeing bands take their influences and mash it up into something fresh and new. The Cummies take the RAMONES-CORE thing to new levels of Brooder Rock and come out on TOP! There are a lot of great Italian Pop Punk and Punk Rock bands out there in this same vein. If you’re already a fan of Teenage Gluesniffers, Manges, Retarded, Los DiMaggios, Cretins, Dead Boyz Can’t Fly or Stinking Polecats you will totally dig the Cummies! The Split is pretty rad. I love splits that bring 2 bands together from different countries. I really think more of these need to be made. It’s the only truly effective way to unite the different scenes from around the world. If that’s what we’re trying to do. Hope so.
