The Hangouts are an up-tempo female fronted punk rock band that will rock your face off. When I first listened to “The Pirate Stomp” I thought I had the record player on the wrong speed. The singer Niki S.’s voice is a bit high pitched, but really compliments the speed in which the music is wailing away around her. On their myspace page they’re described as, “The Donnas doing their rendition of the Ramones covering the Misfits while Electric Frankenstein slam beers and sing along.” I’d have to say that the description is way off base and would say they sound more like Blonde on speed and attitude they aforementioned description is way to complex.
