Better than good pop inspired Punk Rock from the gut. Very strong first release with 14 sing-alongs that will have you pogo’ing all over the damn place. The music is very Ramones-core type of stuff, so if you like that than you will like this. The Bricktops are not doing anything “new” but I don’t think they’re trying for that. They seem very comfortable playing these tunes and the production on the album is a grade above excellent. The back and forth singing fits well and they don’t seem to be competing at all for the “lead” role. I could like this band but I don’t think I could ever “love” them. My hang-up is the lyrics, and how juvenile they seem at times. A little is good but more than that turns me off. Maybe I’m too old, maybe I don’t get it. But whatever, if you dig that Queers/Ramones/Ergs/Prozacs sound than you will love this record. Also, Jake Sauer did the artwork for the album and he’s pretty famous in this scene for kick ass concert posters—BONUS!
