The Uglysticks - "Mike's House" (4/5) It's amazing how something as simple as five songs can restore someone’s faith in Punk. I had never heard The Uglysticks before seeing a bulletin on Myspace that they sent out. On a lark I responded to their bulletin and asked them if I could review their demo.

I had no idea what to expect, but soon found myself ecstatically, overjoyed, bouncing around my room with my stereo turned up so loud the walls and windows are shaking like a magnitude 5.6 earthquake just hit. What a way to wind up 2007, listening to one of the most energetic records I've heard this year. It's emotional, energetic, powerful and was just what I needed to pull myself out of a serious case of robotically walking through the day. This demonstrates music's true power - the ability to kick your ass out of a rut and get you excited about life again.
