The Poulsens – “Demo” In the last couple of years the traditional 3 chord pop punk has been having a big resurgence, which is bringing out some outstanding music, like The Poulsens. We received some demo songs about a month ago from these guys and didn’t know much about them, other than they’re from Ottawa and the songs were produced/recorded/mixed & mastered by Jordan Bell from (one of my favorite bands) The Creeps.

The songs are a little off of the “traditional” pop punk path and have a touch of skate punk mixed in. So if you’re expecting a Ramones cover band, you’ll need to look elsewhere. I can’t really think of a band to compare their sound too, but can tell you they have a sound that you will add to your favorites list. My favorite song of the lot is “You Walked Away”. I liked it so much in fact, that upon hearing “You Walked Away”, I asked the band if it could be used on the upcoming compilation that Punk Rock Review is putting out. Tainted Rating 4/5
